Day 5 - part 1 Cala Bassa Beach Club

11:00
Well we made it to Ibiza last night, can't update last nights post without blogger crashing so just gonna tag it onto this one.

Ferry journey was fine, just over four hours and the ferry goes some too. It makes you realise how far from the mainland we are. Food and beer a plenty on the ferry at reasonable prices and it was air conditioned. We called the other day to confirm it was booked and was OK and were told the return is on the 23rd mow not the 26th...but at the ferry port the booking was still the same?!

So we disembarked in San Antonio and hot footed it right out of there. Memories of ten years ago working in the West End came flooding back. We decided we wouldn't venture too far for the first night and headed over to Cala Bassa. There is a campsite here but for some reason we were attracted to the main car park?! Found a fairly shady spot and parked up. Grabbed the Cobb and the food we bought earlier and off we went to the beach.

The coconut shell briquettes from class ohlson were lit and put on the Cobb...we had used some at Tatton and were slow burners so put four on this time. Much the same really, slow burners. We cooked the Spanish style rack of ribs quite slowly, which wasn't a bad thing, the mandatory Spanish white onion and tomato salad was next along with a few all chopped potatoes with garlic and chilli. Washed down with some Mahou cerveza as the sun set...we finally made it and felt relaxed!

What followed that night at the bar was hilarious! Will let Rebecca explain.

After having some nice scran on the beach we went in search of the source of the Balearic beats we could hear. What we came across was ace...walking into the bar was like a scene from dirty dancing... the "I carried a watermelon" part. People grinding all over each other, salsa, or whatever you want to call it. Completely full of locals just having a great time. I was in my element as I love dancing. Christian was in his element for other reasons...shakira in the corner who was wearing virtually nothing and shaking what her mama gave her put on an awesome show. We decided to sit back and watch the action over a few beers...was a fun first night.

Following a pleasant and cool sleep, thanks to the mighty fan, we put some music on and made breakfast. The car park attendant told us we weren't allowed to stay over night, so 4euros later and a couple of Los sientos, he was happy.

Right now its 12.30, I'm lying on the beach having just had an omelette. This is what its all about and what we came for. I'm just waiting on christian getting me a beer...
