Day 14 - Sa Caleta

So another fun night was had it seems on Cala Comte...another late party though wasn't a patch on the crazy full moon one the night before, well it was a blue moon party, so we didn't attend and got some sleep. We had a bit of a lie in till 10:30 as it was a cool night with the slider open and we were on the rock face again over looking down on to the beach, but this time parked at an angle to a bush to stop traffic of people walking past the van.

We decided to head off and resupply...we have to do this every 3 days as we only buy food long enough for then which is dictated by how long stuff stays cool in the cool box. Now, we have a Coleman extreme but ice doesn't last the stated 6 days mainly due to the van being freaking hot in the day time when we are off an about so we have a set up where we load the bottom with beer, three bags of ice, then food...this gives a nice parcel shelf for food to sit on made from beer for when the ice melts and stops the food mixing into the melt water.
So another Lidl stop was made in San Antonio. Now this place (Lidl) is worth a mention. its great..forget the UK Lidl, these are in a class of their own. The range and quality of food and drink is awesome..fresh fruit and veg, and the premarinated meat section is top notch! Beer is 23 cents each when bought in a multipack..good selection of branded German and Spanish beers too. We got in trouble again as we knew we weren't allowed to take the baskets past the checkout out side to unload but you know when you don't have a euro for the trolley and I just didn't wanna buy four bags to walk ten yards and unpack!
So we left San Antonio again, no sat nav as I know where I'm going nowadays and headed to the airport. Few years back we had been on the scooter to a place we called "that fish restaurant" where we had indeed had a good fishy meal, but web had noted the rural area it was in and it turns out its a national park, so of we went and parked up nearby in the shade of the pine trees. Went for a swim but was just a boat launch area so walked around the rocks and found a good place to jump off into the sea and be able to get back out...this holiday revolves around camping near the sea then going for a dip at least a few times daily to cool off. So after that we went for a good wander around, stumbled on some WWII/Slab sh Civil war turrets, the tunnels to access them was open so we had a scary walk down and had a look through, then we found some protected ancient ruins from the Pheonicians from few hundred bc...just a stone wall foundation really..well we went for a splash after that, found a populated beach this time and the sea had a good chop to it so had some fun bobbing about in the waves.

Beach was nice to look at was quite busy and stoney so after our paddle we left and came back to the van for a read and siesta. After which it was Cobb time..after the success of the prawns the other night we opted for them again along with the now daily allioli (garlic butter) and a rack of ribs, with the also manditory tomato and white onion salad with balsamic and oil. We had another random dog come over and say hello...from where I'm not sure, but I let him know who was boss and ordered him away from the food, after the meal he was back so he got some left over ribbs to which he seemed very happy.

No recent photos because Rebecca has been in charge of the blog and has them on her phone and we haven't had Wi-Fi so we are updating via the data rinsed Spanish sim that won't even load Facebook.
